The app actually works by playing a silent song via the built-in iPod app. The album art is then displayed in the lock screen, which is in turn updated depending on your location. It might sound like a hack – and let’s be fair, it really is – but it gets around Apple’s guidelines and actually seems to work. The downside of the app is that it will consume battery life even when the iPhone is locked as the song needs to be constantly playing in the background. This is still a really cool app to put the weather on your lockscreen.

Sources say that Apple has finished work on test units of a 15-inch LCD for an upcoming ultra-thin laptop from Apple. The report calls the new machine a 15-inch MacBook Air, with the use of integrated SSD and lack of optical drive being the most notable changes allowing for such a thin design. While we don’t know for a fact, we expect that any future “ultra thin” laptop from Apple will also dispense with a built-in optical drive. As evidenced by its recent release of the optical drive-less Mac mini, Apple has no problem leaving physical media behind.

I recorded and edited this video because I know you all like tweaks and mods for your iPod touch, iPhone and iPad! These all come in the community sources which means you don’t need to add any sources to get these tweaks and modifications. These work for iOS 4.3.3 jailbroken device, not tested on iOS 5.0.

It’s been nearly three years since the MacBook Pro last had a significant design change, so you’ll need some eagle eyes to tell these new models apart from its predecessors. Seriously, Thunderbolt even uses the Mini DisplayPort connector, so the only distinguishing characteristics are the lightning-strike Thunderbolt icon on the port row and a subtle new texture to the aluminum lid. Oh, and the SD slot is now SDXC. Almost everything else is exactly the same: the still-best-in-class keyboard and glass multitouch trackpad, the standard glossy display, the ports, the sealed-in battery, you name it.

That’s both good and bad, of course: Apple’s competitors have only recently gained any ground on the MacBook Pro’s unibody build quality and stiffness, but would it really kill anyone to throw in a couple extra USB ports? And maybe space them out enough to allow for both a thumb drive or wireless card and another device without an extension cable? That would be cool. And while we’re at it, we’d also love that optional higher-res 1680 x 1050 display to come standard — in matte, if possible. We will not even begin to lament the lack of a Blu-ray option; down that road lies only the aching pain of desire forever unfulfilled.

On August 11, 2011, the US Patent & Trademark Office published a grand patent application from Apple that reveals their plans of integrating mini or pico-like projectors into future iOS devices while introducing a likely projector accessory for MacBooks. I personally have heard quite a few rumors about future iPhones with integrated projectors on the internet, but will this be a reality?

Up in till yesterday we could hardly be certain though there have been talks of a projector in a macbook since 09. I think if we ever do see an iPhone with projector then it won’t be the iPhone 5 or any iPhone 5 models (i.e. 5G S ect.) because if it was anything like the two-cameras found on the iPhone 4 models then they will wait till they release a number six. The image shows quite clear plans for a projector to plug into a macbook, and integrated inside of the iPad and iPhone. I have seen technology before were from a USB-sized device you could project a keyboard, and touching the projection it would relay this back to the projector plugged into a device via USB for example – I realy liked that piece of tech and thought that it’d be the future, but that was quite a while ago now! If Apple did get projector inside their iDevices then it would certainly be a huge edge against their competitors, but at what price would we have to pay for a projector inside our phone? And I don’t just mean money I mean size and other factors. Apple recently revealed publicly they had registered the domain applepico.com will this be a portal base for the projector features or will it be a completely different site all together. We are yet to find out. What do you think about an integrated projector?

However, as of today, according to HP, the tablet will now go for 399 for the 16GB WiFi version and 499 for the 32GB WiFi version. The price cut is in immediate effect on HP’s website.

This price cut might suggest poor sales of the tablet, and are trying to entice new customers with the price drop. This certainly looks like a desirable tablet now that it is a hundred dollars cheaper. Will you be getting an HP Touchpad now that a price cut has been implemented?

Apple have very recently linked with Orange to provide a new service called ‘Film To Go’ . It enables Orange customers to pay 35 cents by text on their Orange phone and receive a sign up code for the service. Once signed up users will be able to rent 1 movie per week free of charge which they can view on the Apple devices. This is another initiative for Orange to break into the film world with their Orange Wednesdays. Once a film is rented it will only be available for 30 days after this, I think Orange definitely want to be more involved with the film industry after their sponsorship for the BAFTAs.

Orange customers can join this service by texting FILMTOGO to 85060 and you will be supplied with a code which you can redeem on your iTunes account.
